Our 16-year old son just completed a stay at Eckerd Academy. At the time we chose to enroll him at Eckerd Academy, things had become unmanageable at home. The Eckerd experience has been life changing for all of us.
Hunter has spent a lot of time reflecting on past behaviors and focusing on what he wants to accomplish in his future. He has focused on his schoolwork and gotten all A’s in his Academy courses and is presently preparing to apply to colleges for next year.
He now has tools to control his anger and to handle himself appropriately when he feels anxious or angry. Our son has learned how to communicate his wants, feelings and concerns in a more productive manner.
The thing that has impressed us the most throughout this process has been the dedicated staff at Eckerd Academy. You will not find a more loving, dedicated, hardworking and caring staff. Each and every staff member has played a role in Hunter’s life while at Eckerd Academy. We have seen our son grow in so many areas…character development, motivation, integrity and gratefulness…just to name a few. We look forward to him returning to a loving and very manageable family home. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for taking our child into yours!
