Eckerd Academy was founded in 1968 to provide a positive and effective approach to helping troubled teens turn their lives around. For more than 40 years, we have helped tens of thousands of children reach their full potential and, just as importantly, we’ve strengthened families as well. Although we’re proud to share with you some of our many student success stories and testimonials from parents, we’re equally proud of our performance-driven approach which is quite unique among therapeutic youth programs and schools.

Although many therapeutic schools and programs for youth claim success, very few can actually prove their effectiveness in turning around children’s lives. But Eckerd Academy can! Our approach is helping students make significant academic gains of about two years in reading and math in six months time and also achieve more than double the improvement in social skills and mental health than comparable youth therapeutic programs nationwide.
