Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia, Eckerd Academy of the Blue Ridge, is a licensed and accredited outdoor therapeutic program and alternative school in Suches, GA that accepts boys and girls (ages 10 through 18) who are exhibiting one of more of the following:
- Low Self-Esteem and Motivation
- Poor Decision Making
- Impulsivity
- Susceptibility to Negative Peer Pressure
- Parent/Child Relationship Problems

Eckerd Academy of the Blue Ridge provides each student with an individualized academic and treatment plan that helps youth reach their maximum potential. Eckerd Academy of the Blue Ridge specializes in helping “Academically Challenged” Children.
The “Academically Challenged Child”:
- May be having difficulty with only one or two academic subjects
- May not be diagnosed with a learning disability (but is on the “bubble” according to testing)
- Is typically overlooked by most Special Education Programs, but is unable to succeed in the regular classroom
- May or may not have a prescribed IEP and/or learning disabilities
